NFL Week 2 Game Preview - Jaguars vs Colts

The Colts visit the Jags this Sunday in another divisional matchup. The Colts are coming off a tie with the Texans, a game in which neither team looked impressive to me. The only bright spot for the Colts was Jonathan Taylor, which is to be expected basically every game this season. Matt Ryan was not particularly impressive either, which could be a bad sign for Colts fans. He'll need to bounce back with a big game here in Week 2.

The Jaguars enter Week 2 coming off of a tough loss against Carson Wentz and the Commanders. The Jags had the lead for a good portion of the game, but Wentz came through with a couple of clutch throws in the 2nd half to secure the win for the Commanders. On Offense, Trevor Lawrence looks to be coming along nicely as a franchise QB, as he had strong connections with Christian Kirk and Zay Jones in their first game together. I personally think Lawrence will make a huge jump this season and propel the Jaguars into several winning seasons ahead.

The Colts currently sit at -2.5 favorites as I write this sentence. This number was as high as -4.5 earlier this week, so it's been trending in the Jaguars favor. I was able to grab Jaguars +4.5. I was happy to lock that bet in early for this game. I think 4.5 is a great number, especially with them being at home. The Colts need to prove it to me before I can confidently back them in any way. A tie with the Texans tells me they have several things to work on as a team. I fear the Colts lack of depth at basically all positions on the field may hurt them badly this season. Not only do I love the +4.5 Jags here, I'm predicting an outright win. As long as they don't let Taylor run wild and can contain him early in the game, I think the Jags get this done rather easily. If you ask me, the Colts are in for a long, miserable year. Regardless, this should be a fun game to watch, I'm looking forward to it.

My Bet:

Jaguars +4.5 (Fanduel)

Thanks. Peace!
